At just five years old, Joonas participated in the 11th Estonian Male Singing Society (EMLS) boys’ solo singing competition, reaching the finals. By age seven, he secured first place in the preschool age group at the 12th EMLS competition. As a soloist, he has appeared in numerous projects and performs in several productions at the Estonian National Opera, including Mozart’s The Magic Flute, Wagner’s Lohengrin, Kaumann’s The Three Jolly Fellows, Donizetti’s Don Pasquale, and the Vinter/Raudmäe musical Pippi Longstocking.

Beyond his musical achievements, Joonas has established a presence in film. In 2022, he starred in Silver Õun’s short films Mirror in the Mirror and Child’s Play. His performance in Mirror in the Mirror earned him a Best Actor nomination at the Best of BFM film festival. Most recently, in 2024, he appeared in Liina Triškina-Vanhatalo’s feature film Lioness, which was honored with the Best Film award at the 2025 EFTA Gala.
