Astra Irene Susi (b. 1998) is a composer, director, and actor. She graduated from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in composition (2023) and from the Drama School as an actor (2024), and furthered her studies at the Berlin University of the Arts (Universität der Künste Berlin). Currently, she is pursuing a Master’s degree in composition at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and works as an actor at the Endla Theatre. Susi has directed the music theatre productions Vankumatu (Steadfast, 2024) and Un_stus (2025), and served as the composer for the productions Venus in Furs, Kõlblik kuni (Best Before), Palavik (Fever), and Juulikuu lumi (Snow in July). She was awarded the “Master of the Future” scholarship in 2024 and the Endla Theatre Colleagues’ Award in 2025.
Susi’s work dissolves and softens the boundaries between contemporary music, music theatre, and performance art, focusing on sound as dramaturgy. In her creative practice, sound is not merely an auditory element, but a shared field of space, body, and perception.
