Anna Murray (Ireland) is a mixed-media composer. She has a particular interest in improvisation, and creates work that is highly gestural with a unique sense of space and ritual, informed by her study of Japanese Noh, which she studied at Tokyo University of the Arts 2019-21. Graphic scoring is a core part of Murray’s work, which often involves ink painting in one-of-a-kind artwork/scores. Murray is also a regular performer of live improvised electronics; in 2025, she launched a new performance project, INK with an appearance at the Signal Flow Festival in Derry. She was the composer-in-residence at the Oscillations and Modulations Festival in 2023. Murray has released a number of albums of electronic music: Rndr I, II and III; The moon sets and birds cry, and City Shadows (originally released on Café OTO’s Takuroku label). In 2025, Ergodos released Lit, a feature EP with works for voice and flute.
