Jazz club Philly Joe’s was born in January 2014, to be an Estonian jazz music incubator and bring musicians and audience together in a setting appropriate for jazz.
During the five and a half years, the club has seen star artists from Estonia and from all over the world and hosted over 500 music events, including concerts, master classes, workshops, music cinema and different event series.
In 2016, Philly Joe’s jazz club was presented with the Jazz Promoter Award for the restoration of the jazz club tradition in Tallinn.
Our partners are the Ministry of Culture, Cultural Endowment of Estonia, Tallinn Education Department, Tallinn Culture Department, Estonian Jazz Union, Jazzkaar Festival, Music Estonia, Estonian Music- and Theatre Academy, Georg Ots Tallinn Music School, University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy.
We play only vinyl, give the musicians total freedom and coddle our guests all-out. That’s what a true jazz club is!
